Two weeks ago I replaced the water heater in my father's home. I asked if he bothered to drain,flush....as recommended by the manufacture.
He told me when he bought his 1st home, he needed to replace the water heater. Trying to be a responsible home owner, he followed the maintenance schedule recommended in the literature....water heater last roughly 10 years.
Every water heater since that 1st one.....he doesn't even think about the heater, until the hot water stops. They have ALL lasted roughly 10 years.
I don't give the water heater in the B&M a second thought. Yet, I flush/inspect the water heater in the TT on a yearly basis.
Did you or your father replace the anode rods on a regular basis?
