It is so funny reading the posts of the naysayers.
I wonder whether you've read through the history of industrial revolution, the space age and the new technologies that you are using right now which were deemed "impossible" before someone came up with the invention and a few more invested to develop it.
I say, Elon Musk has the track record of delivering on his promises. One impossible thing that he made possible and viable was landing a reusable rocket ship back into a barge.
Previously, naysayers, and scientists at that, said that landing space shuttle is difficult enough -- which is like threading a needle from the 10th floor with the wind blowing.
I don't know that I've read the word "impossible" anywhere that pertains to building an electric pickup. I believe "improbable at the present time" is the most common phrase. And it is. It may work just jim dandy in the city, or dense population centers, but then everyone doesn't live there. Millions of us live in areas where the electric pickup isn't practical as a sole vehicle, like an ICE vehicle is. Maybe someday when the electrical delivery system can reach us all, but not right now.
Elon seems to be pretty good at delivering on his promises, but just like his cars, semis, and pickups, you just have to wait a long time for them.
Elon must be the luckiest SOB then. People, even now in Europe, are willing to flunk in hard-earned money for deposit and wait months for their unit.
But, even present cars, trucks and SUV's are not made for everyone. In business, that's called "your niche market" for every category or product.
Lamborgini can be sold cheaper but then it loses it's mystic if every other guy has one.
