"test drive"
Before I purchase a TT I want to hook it up to my truck and take it on a short drive on a freeway to see how it handles, etc. Do you think a dealer would allow me to do this?

He'll find out one thing for sure. If he doesn't like it empty he sure won't like it loaded. Adding 800-1000lbs won't make much of a difference. I really doubt anyone could tell if their trailer was 800-1000lbs lighter or heavier. If the trailer is built right form the factory then the tongue weight should be 10+%. All those delivery guys haul empty.
