The perfect storm is a diesel 1500 err 150 that deliverers 28 MPG and won't crush you or your loved ones in a accident. If that F150 gets 30 MPG is one thing but that insurance increase of 10% is another. Let me guess here, knowing how you drive :B , yours must be in the $2500 range annually. It will take many gallons to make up your $250 added insurance cost. Especially when the Ram pulls donw a nice 28.
And for all you Boeing guys, they don't test crash airplanes to my knowledge :E
You know like a crumple zone or such. Those wings do flex though :B
Your insurance estimate is not even close, but perhaps in a liberal state like yours that number is possible. :W
Your right... The 1500 diesel perfect storm! Here's the senerio :B
A RAM that pulls down a nice 28mpg while the price of diesel is ~$0.60/gallon more than gas with a cost premium of ~$2,000 on the VM motori option on the sticker with > $100 fuel filters while your grocery getter idles the truck in the mall parking lot for extended periods when all of a sudden the "Drive Truck to Clean Exhaust" message pops ups so now the vehicle is being driven to clean the DPF when all of a sudden the HPFP takes a dump and the warranty is voided because the vehicle was accidently filled with $4.00/gallon gasoline. When asked why did you fill a diesel truck with gas instead of diesel honey, and the answer was the yellow handle spout on the pump was $0.60/gallon cheaper! :W
