That's a hat trick eh...

"...And at the end of it all Ram swept the series taking the overall win with its Ram 1500 equipped with the 3L diesel, 8-speed powertrain.

In the under $45 K category Ram also scored with its Ram 1500 – this one equipped with the Pentastar V6 and 8-speed automatic.

In the HD division, Ram again won out, though narrowly, with its 2500-series truck equipped with the 6.7L Cummins diesel engine.  We congratulate Ram on a true Canadian hat-trick"

  • At todays exchange rate to US Dollars that's still a whopping $61,409.18! That's almost a brand new Class C motorhome price!
  • Those prices are in Canadian dollars. Not only is there the exchange rate, but also the little extra rip off factor all auto makers get us Canadians with thrown in.
  • I recently wandered around the truck lot at my local Ram dealer the other day while having service work done. I was totally shocked. A new Ram comparably equipped to what I have now, with a more, newer electronics, etc, was nearly $70,000.00. I almost fell out. Who can buy that stuff?
  • YIKES x2.
    half ton (1500)
    2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Ecotec3 6.2L V8 As tested: $65,585

Am I reading that correctly? If so, I'll be keeping the one I have now for quite some time.
  • YIKES. Todays truck prices are really testing the limits of how much we will spend on our transportation.
In 1962, i purchased a Dodge, 2500 series, HD manual trans, i think with the 318 CU V -8 for less than $2,100 dollars, and that was a NEW truck. My 1998.5 Dodge 2500 series, Cummins powered, loaded was a little less than 30,000 grand. I guess that will be my last truck that i will buy.
