Back in '63 I was at a Midwest lake. I was a kid. A couple in their 20's launched a boat, using about a year old new car...4 door hardtop. The boat launch was at an angle...the driver got out to crank the boat off the trailer...and for some reason the whole combination went backward into the lake.
They used an International pickup to yank it all out of the lake...water cascaded out when they opened all 4 doors. The windows had been down.
Always check your parking brake and if your vehicle is solidly in park.
