The bottom line issue with China production is; The prototypes are made to specs, the quality is acceptable, the proper raw materials are used. The contract is signed, production starts. Somewhere in the supply chain, someone substitutes an inferior component or raw material and pockets the difference in cost.... the inferior product does the China bomb thing... Remember the melamine powder in the milk to skew test results?, it kept resurfacing every couple years...
The above description is roughly the problem we had with them regarding the production for our company ( not tires ). We provided the specs and the initial oversight to ensure product was good. As I stated earlier, all was good as long as we rode herd over them. Soon as we turned our back, quality went downhill.
As others have pointed out here, this kind of production attitude leads to variables in QC. To bring this full circle back to tires for your trailer, this all begs the question, do you want to roll the dice on a product made in a factory that "may" operate like that ? Again, your money, your choice. I am not saying my choice is correct for anybody else. Simply stating what my choice is based on personal experience, observation and reading what I can about the subject. Your conclusions and results may be different.
