I always find it interesting that some people don't want to see this subject discussed. References to it being a dead horse, etc.
You read a lot into a simple statement. I never said or even indicated that I would like to not see the issues discussed any further. I've actually contributed to the debate over the years. It's actually interesting to see if someone will come up with something that hasn't been stated before. I did say that the debate will never be put to rest.
County of origin, manufacturer, ST vs LT, speed, heck even the shape of tires has been discussed in great detail year over year. Everything from people with years of personal experience, facts from actual tire engineers, manufacturer statements, those those who obviously drink the Kool Aid, those that refuse, and those that once did. The rehash of info and opinions coupled with stagnation of tire technology, specifically with ST tires, is what makes a lot of these debates seem like a dead horse. That doesn't mean that it's not fun, entertaining, or interesting to continue to beat the dead horse lol. But realistically diehards on one side will never be able to convince the diehards on the other side regardless of the proof.
I've formulated my own opinions and tire preferences based off of info from threads like these. There's a select few that I've been able to follow their tire journey over the years, even across decades, and I put more weight behind their experiences and info. Although after mistakenly assuming that I had no interest in seeing the debates like this continue, you suggested that I ignore threads that do not interest me. You too can also bypass any of my comments that you do not agree with. So, carry on men lol.
