I don't find it odd at all that a LT tire maker or a P tire maker would advertise a particular line of their tires for trailer service.
Most Americans would not want a tire advertised as a trailer tire on their suv/van/pickup truck according to Michelin customer service 1-800 some years ago when they dropped their add that read like this; direct paste and copy
"Michelin® XPS Rib® tires are the best value per mile in the Michelin commercial tire lineup and an ideal choice for commercial trailers because of low rolling resistance (for better fuel economy), a long-wear tread design and retreadability.
