I don't know where anyone would get that the RAM gets 12 mpg. It got 8.5 mpg pulling a 19,000# trailer (~28,000# GCW) up and down mountain grades in the last test. For the record, the Ford diesel got 9.5 mpg for the same test, the GMC, 9.1 mpg.
