,,Well, I can relate to vendors messing up production, it has happened to us on occasion in the past...We don't get material in when we're told we will, or we get something in and it's the WRONG material, OR we get material in and it's defective, (caught in OUR quality processes)...can make one bitter and it can REALLY get ugly if it affects OUR customer...lot's of communicating back and forth with us, our vendor(s) and our Customer, this can be, Ford, Chrysler, GM, Volvo, BMW, VW, Fiat and Mercesdes Benz, to name a few, IF they run out of our brake calipers, corners, adapters and on, it can get VERY EXPENSIVE and every mother and her son is ALL OVER IT, until issue is rectified..
..........at one time, when an assembly line shut down, an automotive manufacturer could charge the Tier 1 supplier up to $200,000 an HOUR!!! if it was due to not getting parts in, thus holding up or stopping the assembly line...could cost up to $30,000 just to expedite one skid of brake calipers....
........it ain't cheap and it ain't pretty...and everyone is pushing someone for answers and results...I see it being no different with the production of Ram trucks.....(I've set in on meetings like this and it can get intense at times), no one is setting around on their hands, I can tell you that....
Problem, what ever it is will be rectified, just like any other auto manufacturer, and all will be ok..
