Guess I just assumed that since the DEF tank is supposed to be sized for filling at oil Change intervals, they would normally top it off as needed. Did I expect NOT to be charged for it? Of course I would expect pay for the DEF. Just not 10 gallons, when the tank is supposed to have a total capacity of just over 5 gallons. I did expect to pay more at the dealer. And $8.00/gallon (Dealer Price) was within the realm of possibility. But 10 gallons? In a 5 gallon tank?
Regardless, if it needed 10 gallons, it must have been pretty dry. Dealer tech didn't even check the level of DEF. I would have expected they should at least do that. Wouldn't you?
