The brochure weights put out by the manufacturers is artificially low. The manufacturer will note that weight is based on a trailer equipped with only "standard" equipment.
However, please note that all manufacturers that I've seen have at the minimum a "consumer value package" or some similarly named package. This is not "standard", but it is a "mandatory" option.
You can not get this trailer without the "CVP" but it's not included in the dry weight because it's a "mandatory" option, and not a standard item.

I suppose the reason for the dry weight, is if the TT needs to be shipped. However, I have never seen anything larger 16 ft on a trailer, usually three at a time.
The end result is it is used to sell trailers so it is interesting to see how much weight people add.
