The issue is when researching brands, you need to rely on brochure dry weight, since the "as shipped" dry weight is only shown in the trailer.
In this online world in which we live that's no longer really the case as many retailers now include pics of weight stickers for the units they're offering for sale. If all dealers would do this this problem of brochure dry weight vs actual dry weight would be solved entirely. In the interim there is an alternate solution - call the dealer and ask for the actual sticker weight for the particular unit in which you're interested.
