Is that what they call a "rope in" glass and seal assy? You put sash cord in around the glass grove then use it to work the seal over the glass as you put it in?
The one I'm thinking of goes into a separate groove in the rubber to lock the window in place good and water tight. My truck's windshield has a gasket like that. They use a hooked awl to lift the gasket to allow the glass to drop into place, then press a piece of plastic into an outer groove in the seal that compresses the gasket tightly into place around the glass.
The gasket itself is sealed to the body of the vehicle using a sealant specifically for that purpose.
