Just an FYI for Sleepy, I have a TC (and a 1 ton SRW to haul it) and I also have one of those "novelty tucks" for a daily driver. I get 19 to 21 with my 1/2 ton chev. crew cab and it has a hard tonneau cover to keep the groceries from getting wet. The reason I own it is due to my location. I drive 10 miles each way to work, 8 of which is gravel that is supposed to be maintained by the HOA. It was graded the last time 2 years ago, and gets the snow plowed a week or so after it snows if we are lucky. That being said your Prius would get even better mileage here because most of the time it wouldn't be able to get out of the driveway due to the snow and mud. I need 4wd over half the winter to get in and out and that is only if I plow my driveway down to the main road, as the driveway is steep enough to be impassable if not plowed in the winter. I had a 32 mpg car when I bought this house and got tired of being stuck, traded it for an SUV and got tired of poor mileage (15 to 17) and being uncomfortable. So we settled on being more comfortable, not getting stuck, and getting reasonable mileage in my "novelty truck". Like someone else on here stated you cannot pigeon hole everyone, we all have different needs and that is why every vehicle manufacture has so many different models and so many variations of each model, THEY SELL THEM!!!
