From what I have experienced, no ifs or buts about it you are wrong.
More HP = more MPG. Take my 08 F-350, SRW, 350HP, 650 torque, 13MPG empty if I am lucky. 2011 F-350, DRW, 400HP, 800lbs of torque, 18-22 MPG empty with a much heavier and larger truck.I also get an improved tranny to handle the power.
Since I have more power, a better engine and tranny, I put less strain on the engine and tranny when doing the same amount of work, which = fewer engine and tanny failures.
The same thing goes for the Dodges we have for the ranch. 07.5 Dodge 1 ton SRW. 12-13 MPG empty if I am lucky. 350HP, 650 torque. Our new 2013 Dodge 1 ton SRW.385 HP, 850 torque and much better tranny, 18-20 MPG empty and the truck is heavier.Plus I no longer have DPF problems and don't make oil, fewer and shorter regen times.
