Hey Peeps, That was a good read but I have to disagree with something you said though. I believe you can make more hp with gears. If a engine was capable of making 200hp at 3000 RPM on the ground and you are running along at 55 @ 1500 RPM then you hit a hill that takes 200hp to pull then you will need to gear down to where your engine is making 200hp on the ground.
Like you said , gear will make more torque at the same wheel speed. What happens when you have the same RPM but you add more torque? You make more HP. ;)
