It was to prove a point. The manufacturers do the exact same thing in their glossy literature and hope you will be overwhelmed by their larger numbers and run down to the closest dealership with torque and horsepower numbers spinning in your head.
To me, it is amazing to drive both trucks with such different characteristics yet have numbers so close. It also reenforces my thought on not making a decision until your seat of the pants also gets its say.
