I'm reading a lot of interesting memories here. Slant sixes in one ton Dodges that cruise at 100 mph and 300 cube Ford inline sixes that develop 235 hp ?
Both engines were very good, but....
I'm sure I'm way off on the HP of the '94 F150 but, it sure was a $24k disappointment when I traded it for the '95 Cummins powered turd. Lower rpm yes. Faster up the grades, no. While I was worried about the Mazda 5spd in the F150 that held up well, the 47RH transmission in the Ram slipped and jerked up the first 40mph grade coming out of Cherokee NC towing 4400 lbs. Maybe I'm thinking of the "235hp" 98 12v 5spd/4.10 Ram I traded the '95 for. Howled like a banshee at 70mph/2500rpm. Much better but far from the hype bestowed upon it.
