I am a far cry from an automotive engineer, but it seems to me the max power would be where the two curves cross on a hp/trq chart. Just wondering. I have never seen my max. hp rpm of I believe to be around 3200 while towing. My trans shifts at abound 2800 max wot under heavy load. I let my trans decide what gear it needs to be in going up a big hill. I will down shift to 2ed going down so it is the highest gear to get a little hold back.
