It all depends on whose bank. If it is GM, Ford or Ram's bank it is all about torque. If it is the OP's bank it is about HP.

I only saw one thing I would differ with the OP.
"Duty cycle goes down as HP goes up."
I suspect in the Class 8 trucks which over the years have increased the hp by a factor of almost 3 that if anything the duty cycle has also gone up. Same for stationary engines used in cruise ships and cargo container ships.
Everything else the OP stated is right on the money from my aspect.
I think the OP was referring to all other things equal with regard to duty cycle. Of course changes in technology over time will increase power without costing duty cycle.
