- Cummins12V98Explorer IIIAs you drive the truck and tow with it I am anxious to hear the noticeable differences between this and the last truck.
Also will like a report on the "new" hitch. - Cummins12V98Explorer III5er Towing 21,700 is a real deceptive number that gets people in trouble, 25% pin is 5,425#
My last 5er had 25% pin, it weighed 19k so 4,750#. So with hitch, fuel passengers etc would your truck be within spec towing that Mobile Suites? - Cummins12V98Explorer III

One of my all time favorites. - BoomerwepsExplorerShore is purdy.
I've had two black vehicles. Couldn't clean the tops without a ladder. NEVER AGAIN!
I do believe you're set to tow whatever you want ;) JTrac wrote:

I like it! What are the towing and payload numbers?
Thanks!
Kevin
towing -
20,000# conventional towing
21,700# fifth wheel
5461# payload per sticker
30,000# GCWR
Before someone questions your numbers I think the payload is 4561, not 5461. You would think your computer would know better and do an auto correct. I got you beat by one pound at 4562. I'm going into my 3rd month with mine and the performance beats anything I have ever owned. Congratulations and let us know how it performs for you. It's a beautiful truck.
Thanks Jim,, I DID go back and correct that.. I am 1,200# highter than my " 15" that had 3364#
the limiting factor is STILL:
tires - 7500# ( 3750 ea)
axle - 7230#- JTracExplorer

You know what they say,... " once you go Black, you never go back ! " :B
Yes, black, or deep blue, are great colors, and hard to beat the looks of the new Fords! I only bought one new black truck, as mine see off road duty in the Fall. My last two new ones have been white. In my case, never go back to black, but that's just me.
Congrats, and IIRC, you also have a nice new hitch to drop in and enjoy.
