I run Carlisle tires on my trailers. Reason being is U-Haul runs Carlisle and they cannot afford tire failure on a rental trailer. I don't care where a tire is made, could be bum fudge Egypt for I care, I go by how they hold up and who runs them, in this case U-Haul.
I never drive fast but I am overloaded most times with my utility trailers.
When did U-Haul switch from Goodyear on their trailers?
Not a clue. All Carlisle now. Maybe 'Goodyear' turned into a 'Badyear' for U-Haul.
last u haul I rented was carlisle, but also they were bias ply not radial. and I'll bet it's a tire you can't buy, it stated Property of U haul or similar molded into the sidewall, likely a special made to u haul spec's on contract. Not sure I'd make the comparison that the quality would or would not be equal on ones we can buy.
