If money is not a problem - purchase the trailer and then get the right truck to pull it.
Heavy trailer - get a 2011 or newer dually diesel.
Trailer around the 10,000 range get a SRW diesel (2011 or newer).
In 2011 the GVWR ratings went up quite a bit.
Don't forget to look into the DMV laws - in New York if the GVWR of the truck and trailer exceeds 26,000 lbs a class R license is required - another road exam with the truck pulling the trailer - city & highway driving and parking the truck/trailer. No physical like a CDL though.
