The trailer must have some accessories....

Calling all creative and handy types......

The last campground we stayed at (Lake Gaston) was incredibly dark. We did have trees around the site, so attaching the lighting we dug out of the pass through storage that still worked could easily be strung up. Because it was so dark at night and we were not prepared, we have searched and found a fantastic deal on 4 strings of RV awning lights, plus I've pulled ALL the Christmas lights out of the attic. :B

My goal: The space station should be able look down on our camp site and see it on our next camping trip. (Not really, but seriously we must have a lighting upgrade from the last trip.)
There could be complaints from my neighbors. :S

We will be camping at a campground that will not have any trees around our site. We will be camping in the Outer Banks, NC along the Pamolico Sound. We don't leave our awning out because of storms we have experienced in the past as well as seeing the aftermath of fellow campers' awning destruction. So, what's a girl to do when holding all of these string lights and no trees to attach them to. I do have a few solar lights but I think we are on a slap with no way to place these lights in the ground.

So I need some ideas folks...... :h

  • How much light are you hoping for?? Just a soft glow or a bright, holiday type display?? I had thought about the solar type that stick in the ground, but if that's not possible....... I know the hassle of putting up the tacky lights only to have to take them all down....we rarely leave our awning out overnight...experience teaches. I've seen folks use the rope lights around the perimeter of the campsite. Would that work? Or.....would suction cups put onto the outside of your camper hold them?? I love our tacky lights - the little red lantern ones, some pumpkins for fall or some baseballs and gloves for the spring training trek. DH would not mind if somehow they all got lost, but I'm keeping my eyes on them...although using them is getting to be less and less.

Going another direction, albeit $$$, I've seen sites with the lighted palm trees and other similar things. I used to have a website bookmarked that had some cute things, but it's nowhere to be found. Surely there are a lot of sites for outdoor lighting. Maybe something there will be just what you're after.
