Well, after many years of saving money and lots of research, it is finally time to go pick up my Arctic Fox 811. We are headed up to American RV in Grand Rapids MI tomorrow for a Saturday morning pick up and orientation appointment. My truck is prepped with Torklift frame mounted tie downs, Fast guns, and Stable Loads. Even though I have a LineX liner in the bed, I put down a rubber bed mat to help the camper stay in place. Tailgate will be removed prior to leaving the house. Is there anything I'm forgetting?

The only thing I can think of is a camera to record the moment just before you pull out of the dealers lot. And of course we will be waiting to see that moment noted on the forum.

I have a factory 7 pin connector in the bed of my truck. I'm assuming it will plug in there. To be honest I don't fully understand how it will plug in to the truck. I know the plug in at the front of the camper is not the 7 pin style but i'm assuming there is some kind of adapter. I don't really know.

Xpd77, Enjoy the new camper. You're only about 45 minutes from where I live. Where you going to take it for the first night of camping?

Purdy, purdy, indeed. This is about a short a rig as you could compile on a 4 door, short, big cabover assembly. Compress a couple feet and you would have a class B.

Great looking TC!!! Hope you have a blast in it. Im glad Northwood went back to the basic AF/Fox decal on the front. I think they took a lot of heat for the year they did away with the fox logo and went to that big bright flashy whatever you call it. Now you need a few solar panels up on that roof.

WOW! It's a beautiful setup! I can see the smile on your face from here. It's good to hear that you did lots of research and are set up very nicely with the best tie downs on the market.

Now comes the fun part, cleaning it and filling it to make it really yours. Have fun and enjoy your new camping adventures!

I did weigh it before I drove north. 8'080lbs with a full tank of gas, tie downs installed, and a few other minor items in the truck. I have not weighed it again since the camper has been loaded, yet. I will probably wait until I get the tanks filled and such. It is winterized at this point.

I would have suggested that you weigh your truck before you picked it up, then with the camper loaded and then a few months down the road, after you have filled it up with all your personal belongings. It might surprise you in what you discover about your truck and camper.
