If the 2000-2006 Silverado durama x is one of the worst, I can't image what a Best would be like. My 04.5 now has 160K miles on it and has yet to have ANY even minor repairs or issues. Just the maitenance schedule in the book. Even has the original brake pads, which still have close to 50 percent of the pad left.
No squeaks, not rattles, paint looks new, interior looks almost new, in fact the factory leather seats are just starting to show minor wear.
Now compare to my experience with the so called paragon of excellence and top rate mfg honda.
we had two honda accords, DD had a civic. got rid of all of them before 100K miles, and all of them had major non warranty mechanical failures we had to pay for. Two AC compressors, ABS module, radiators, ignition coil packs. egr failures resulting in engine stalling. leather interior cracking looking terrible were just the tip of the iceberg in problems not covered by warranty.
These three hondas cost us more in repairs and down time than a s10 after 250K miles, a GMC full sized van after 180K miles, a pontiac after 180K miles, a mercedes after 160K miles and another mercedes after 90K miles and our Silverado after 160K miles.
The VW we had was in the same class as the honda's.
So, if the silverado is bottom of the heap where does that put the honda's.???
