Thermistor placement for Atwood helium fridge

Hi Everyone. Hoping you can help me. I have the Atwood fridge and recently installed a few fan to circulate the air better inside . In doing so I forgot which fin I had the thermistor wire clipped to. I called Atwood and they said that the farther right makes it colder but no luck with that as I can't get it lower than 42. Could you please let me know which fin yours is clipped to and how far up or down on the fin its placed? Much appreciated. Andrew
  • Mine have all been clipped on the far right fin. Moving it to the top will give you the lowest temperature. My current unit doesn't get all that cold either. I have been considering replacing the controller board with one from Dinosaur that has a temperature adjustment on it. Something less expensive to try would be to add a small fan to blow air up through the outside coils to more rapidly remove the heat.
  • I replied to Andrew via a PM, but I'm posting the response here for anyone doing a search.

On my Atwood refrigerator (8 cu Ft), the sensor is clipped to the 8th fin from the right and about 2/5 of the way from the bottom of the fin.
  • Great news...the 8th fin is the key to getting the right temps for me. Seems opposite of what you would think but it works. Thanks everyone for input.
  • I'll try the 8th fin placement the next time I have my trailer out. I'll also measure the fin temps as I'm guessing then that the 8th fin runs warmer than the far right one. Thanks for the info.
