on my dometic, the label by the thermistor shows "warmer" at the top, 'colder" at the bottom, just like your seeing.
yes, it doesn't have much range. if you want to have a truly adjustable temperature control buy the dinosaur electronics adjustable thermostat for dometic "non adjustable" fridges. works great.
