Ignore this comment. Good quality tunes are well worth the money and can rarely be pinpointed as the cause of any problems.
But of course. When the transmission fails, which is usually the component that takes the brunt of the added HP, who can prove it was the tuner?
The tuner customers assume that some person in a shop somewhere has figured out how to do a better job of tuning the engine than the hundreds of engineers at the factory. I fail to understand why anyone would expect this to be true.
You can change the tune to increase horsepower but at the expense of engine longevity and fuel economy. There is no free lunch but that seems to be beyond the grasp of many Americans.
