That should tell you something about those tacky campers because happiness isn't about how many nice, shiny new things you have or how slick and fancy the RV park is. Camping has always been about people who love the outdoors but like some of the comforts of home when they travel. My folks started us kids camping back in the mid 60's and it was people who wanted to get away and not have to dine out for every meal and pay for expensive motels. This hobby belongs to all of those people in those tacky campers and you're allowed to be a part of it.
If you want to get away from all of that, buy a backpack and a tent and hike the back country.
I do have it all, I'm happy, I'm just pointing out some issues I never thought of. Sitting in a campground with people that park a trailer here for ten years , no maintenance and just build on and build on and eventually have a house isn't camping. I don't know what that is, but its not camping. I have two small children, we like to fish, swim , roast mashmelloes, etc. when I take the kids camping and can't do any of those things because some old sob wants to live in filth seems silly. I will indeed stay away from private parks moving forward. I don't want to get away per se. But most of these private parks have limitations on the year of your camper and / or looks of your camper, unless you pay your 500 a month. Most of you are right , it's just like a hotel experience, just much more disgusting and nasty. I camp, they live. I like going back to my six figure job and home, camping is a way to get away with the kids, not sleep next to some ragging drunk who built a deck three times next to his trailer because he wanted to live the "camping life", now I know how to fix the problem, I will :)
