Clearing the cab (and/or bedrails) is a common thing easily taken care of with a 4x8 sheet of 2” thick rigid foam from Home Depot or wherever. Thick horse stall mats cut to fit are also popular, or even just some 2x4s.
4x4 trucks sit pretty high and boat trailer tongues are pretty long, I’ve towed many boats behind campers with no extension. If you get one, I’d keep it as short as possible. It probably doesn’t need to go out past the camper. Back your rig up to the boat and check.
If I remember right Lance had a six-round-pin connector.
I’m pretty sure you can buy a ready-made cord with the Lance connector at one end and the modern standard seven-flat-pin on the other end. Or just use whatever cable you have and change the plug on the end that doesn’t fit to one that does.
Campers don’t need the seventh wire, the extra is the trailer brake controller wire.
