You have too much time on your hands. If you want a new diesel, go buy one, if you want like new, find one from 08-12 model depending on brand. If you don't want to deal with it, hold out for a nice LBZ Dmax or CR 3rd gen Cummins with a 6 speed.
Have had a fleet of def Rams on the N Slope of AK, worst possible operating conditions for a newer diesel, extreme cold, constant idling, no load driving and 25-35 mph speed limits. Only def issues in the last 12 months are filler hoses freezing solid if refilled outside below -25 and 3 def injectors have gone bad but they're a 10 min repair. Haven't even had to do a manual regen on any of the Rams, some approaching 1000 hours and only 2000 miles.
Can't say the same for the Powder Smokes and Maxipads doing the same duty.
