Sometimes it is just a matter how far you are willing to travel.
I have rare taste in cars and for decades, every 3-4 years I was traveling 2-3000 miles for the car that I like.
Obviously that has to come with desire to travel.
Sounds like you 2 ought to get together and split the drive distance.
Iv'e bought motorcycles in California and I live in Michigan. I just have them crated and shipped.
