The complexity of tent trailer setup was what drove our market towards the pop-up.
With a smaller, more simple tent, the setup can be much more simple, just as my 30 year old 7x7 umbrella tent goes up faster, with much less work, than a 16x20 three-room family tent. But most family-size tent trailers are more work than a pop-up, and many require two people working together to put them up.
These things are popular in Europe because they need lighter pull weights than we get with family-size PUPs. You do that much work, and it is camping, rather than RVing.
