- DutchmenSportExplorerMine is in my driveway. Been using it all winter to sleep in and hang out watching television ... mostly week-ends ...
Gonna stock it back up with dry goods and clothes and blankets this week-end. We'll get a container to keep in the house and begin collecting all our "wet" items to return to the camper too. The next week-end following, we're heading out for Florida for 2 weeks.
Depending upon the temps when we get back, I may not need to winterize again. But who knows. Who would have thought I would wake up this morning and find it 11 below zero this morning outside my door! - BubbaChrisExplorerFor us it will be no later than March 8th. We had 2" of snow yesterday, but most if it is melted already. Our lows should stay just above freezing going forward.
Once it is out, I can put an electric heater inside in case I'm worried about things. - mdamerellExplorerWe normally camp in Wapakoneta OH which is near you. We aim for the 1st week in April based on weather. Last year we had a cold snap and (I know, it was a rough choice) I stayed in the camper 3 weekdays and migrate to work from the CG to ensure it was heated so nothing would freeze.
I look for night time temps to stay near or above freezing. If it dips to 30 degrees just before sun up I'm fine. It will take more than 2 hours for the camper to cool off and start freezing. - MackinawManExplorerWe keep ours stored at a local fairgrounds, so it comes out when they start pulling all the stored units out. They generally do it either the last week of March or the first week of April, depending on the weather forecast. Seems like every year it's been that first week of April.
- Nvr2loudExplorer IIFirst week of May.
We still have 3 feet of snow on top of it right now. - KittykathExplorer IIFirst week of April for us to at least drag it the 6 miles home. We'll wait until the last minute to de-winterize. Minnesota weather is unpredictable.
- myredracerExplorer IIThe Easter long weekend is our yearly first planned outing and we're doing 4 nights this year. The nights can still be a bit chilly then tho.
For folks in the PNW, it's been on the milder so far this year. The past week or so has been dry and would have been good for camping, with a few chilly nights but above freezing. Anything can still happen in March so the cover isn't coming off for a while yet.
In the meantime, the grass is growing and needs cutting already (grrr). - MKirklandExplorerSame time I turn on my lawn sprinklers. Usually one continuous week of night temps above freezing.
- rbpruExplorer IILast year we pull out on Valentine’s Day for a couple of days of fun in the snow at the State Park. We dry camped of course.
Came home loaded up and left for the Everglades four days later. We were in TN before we could add water.
We returned in the snow and cold a month later and I had to drain and blow out the pipes.
This year we are planning a trip to southern Indiana the third week end of March. We will probably head for the Ozarks in mid-April. I use my air compressor to blow the lines if it is near freezing. Should it get really cold, I re-pump the anti-freeze. - T3rry1ExplorerAlready pulled it out to start working on it, wont be camping til may but that's ok, i need some time to install and test out some of the mods in the mods thread :)
