And some times the customer knows best. I was at an RV show one time and I was looking at a Newmar fifth wheel and was talking to the factory rep. A guy comes up and tells the rep that he has a 3/4T Z71 SCSB Chevy with a small V-8 and I think he said 3.55:1 gears and an auto tranny. Now we are talking about a 40' Newmar that had a pin weight alone of like 4000# and a GVWR of something like 20,000#. I don't remember all of the particulars but this guy said that he could tow that fifth wheel with his truck. The rep tried to be diplomatic about the whole thing and steer him over to the lighter American Star line that they had brought to the show. This guy would have none of it and marched off in a huff. After he left I turned to the rep and said "...what do you think?" All the rep said was "...this fiver would squash him like a bug!" True story and we both had a good laugh over it.
