Well, after all, you were on a Ford lot. To get towing capacity seek out the Dodge sign. LOL
JUST KIDDING!
I know you are kidding. But when I was looking to purchase a 2012 RAM 3500 srw, we stopped at a RAM dealer to ask what the cargo capacity of that model was. The designated truck manager response..."It's a 3500. So it will carry 3500 pounds of cargo." And he wasn't kidding.
As soon as he got that out of his mouth, I was walking out the door...shaking my head.
But the real problem I had was, this was the third RAM dealer where I tried to get the same info. One guy actually researched for 30 minutes. And finally admitted he could not get information he could believe. But he actually tried to answer the question. The other dealer, said he did not know. But the truck manager would be in tomorrow. I could call him.
I really wanted to buy a RAM. But the dealers made me buy a Ford. Had a very different experience at the Ford dealership. When I asked to price out a F350, the sales guy asked why an F350. I told him to tow my 14,250# 5th wheel. He pulled out his spec sheet and showed me the CCC of the F350.
Said he just sold a new truck to a couple, that had bought the wrong truck from another dealer. He wanted to make sure the truck was correct size for the need. Probably a very unusual encounter. But he sold me my truck.
