Thoughts on this truck please

I would appreciate thoughts on this truck. I'm particularly interested in reliability, known issues, and cost of maintenance. Were replacing our 2000 expedition and 27' TT. We'll probably look at travel trailers in similar length and maybe 7250lbs loaded? Thank you for any input.

Edit
I really appreciate all the input. I've removed the link to the truck. I had not noticed that the photos were in fact stock photos. Most of the time "stock" photos are obvious. Manufacturers stock photos are one thing, using dealer generated "stock" photos from their own lot is misleading to say the least. Thank you everyone that contributed.
  • Thank you everyone. We're going to a few dealers this week, I'll look into this and let everyone know what I find.
  • They said more photos coming soon as this is a new listing, so whoever maintains their website knows nothing about cars or trucks and pulled some picture from archives that read "Ford Super Duty" :)
  • May or may not be THE vehicle, but I did a quick free VIN check on a website and the VIN in the ad does belong to an '08 F350......whatever it looks like.

I was just going to say the same thing, its 07 or prior so its got the 6.0 not 6.4.

I had the 6.4 and it would have cost me probably 10 grand had all the problems not been covered by warranty. My dad has a 6.0 and has had nothing but problems. Avoid any Ford diesel with the 6.0 or 6.4 if you want reliability.

  • This is a great example of why I haven't been able to justify buying a used truck. This truck is 6 years old with 80,000 miles and I'm not sure how reliable the motor is in it, and they want $26k.

I can buy a brand new Ram 2500 Hemi for $31-32k or a CTD model for $36-37k. Paying the extra up front and getting a brand new and better (imo) truck with a full warranty seems smarter than saving the money in return for 6 years and 80,000 miles of use. It would probably take me 7 years to run up 80,000 miles, and at the end of that 7 years I'd basically own the used truck you're looking at now versus owning a 13 year old truck with 160,000 miles on it.

    Just something to think about.
  • Don't know about the actual truck, but the price is fair. I sold my 2005 Chevy 3500 dully (diesel) to the dealer. He gave me $18,000 for it. Turned right around, fixed a few things on it and set it back on the lot 3 days later for $25,000. So the price looks fair. Let others chime in on other concerns....
