Can someone explain how they adjust? The camper is never in exactly the same spot so I've always failed to see how they don't require adjustment like a turnbuckle.
You just spin the bottom hook. It's super easy since there's no tension on them when you do. I rarely have to adjust any of them but when I do it's easy to tell as I install them. When they are the right length, the hook will just barely catch the hole in the Torklift mount as I lift the slack out of it. Once it's through the hole, the handle takes up the slack and adds tension. In other words they designed the throw of the handle to match the depth of the hook plus the required tension. If for some reason the tension is wrong just flip the handle, swing the hook out, give it a twist and reinstall.
You can also check the tension this way: The lock hole will be blocked exactly half way when you pull the handle to take up the slack but before you apply any force.
