Timbren Question

Installing my Timbrens today. Put the assemblies together with the spacer. When the center bolt is tight, the spacer and rubber bump stop are "loose" kinda flopping a little.

Is this supposed to be like that? Both assemblies, with either short or long bolts (with and without spacers) don't tighten all the way up. So, Im assuming that's the way it's supposed to be.. Just seems kinda weird.

  • They should not be loose. I'd contact timbren with your questions.
  • I should clarify.. Truck is 2017 Ram 3500. This application has the assembly bolting to a bracket, and bracket bolts to frame into OEM position, with OEM bolts.

I'll call Timbren tomorrow to check.

    Thanks

  • Figured it out. Just had to get some leverage to really torque it down.

    Spinach !!!
  • I was worried about stripping the threads and I had to add quite a bit of umph to tighten it. Shouldn't have been that way, but it worked. They are installed and all is good.

How loose was it? are you sure the nuts didn't bottom out on the shoulders of the bolts? Are they shouldered bolts?
Agree, this should not be the case.
