Still frustrated with how stupidly the trucks on the lots are optioned, might have to order one. Leaning towards the Ford but it's hard to ignore the prices on the Rams at Dillon. How can they do it? Are there any Ford dealers that offer such big discounts? When you look at the MSRP/Invoice/Rebates, the Fords and Rams are very close. I know there is holdback, but that still doesn't account for the difference. I think there are also monthly or quarterly incentives to the dealers based on volume or something?
I spoke to a sales rep at Dillon the other day and he flat out told me that they make heir money from Ram due to the number of vehicles they sell each month. He said that they move over 200 a month. My local dealer probably doesn't even have 200 vehicles on the entire lot and maybe only 6 or 7 HD trucks. After buying several vehicles from them they flat out told me they can't touch Dillons price. There is a gentlemen on the Cummins forum that works at a dealer that everyone speaks highly about. I think the dealer is in Indiana or Ohio but I'm not sure.
