With the demands of a heavy camper I am curious what tires people are happy with, I have had the goodyear wrangler A/T and been happy but I am thinking about changing to the Michelin LTX M/S 2, has anyone used those or another tire they have liked?'08 dodge ram dually with AF990 pulling a 16' flatbed with Jeep or other toys

On my former '01 F350 DRW I had BFG All Terrains. They did great until I got the TC in my sig. That put the weight capacity at almost 100% of the posted weight rating of the tires, then I started having issues. Two rears bubbled, but were replaced for free by Discount Tire. Previous to my Eagle Cap I had an AF 1150, never had a problem. They had a good mix of offroad traction and on-road noise.

The trucking company I work for ran wrangler h/t, and a/t for years on vans. We made the switch the michelin ltx m/s 2 and could not be happier with them. We don't go to max weight all the time so I cant say to much about that part, but they wear beautifully. Our 1st set outlasted the wrangler's by 50,000 miles. The winter traction is good also. I dont think you be unhappy with the michelins.

In the past I have used Toyo HT's. They work well and last about 50,000 miles, are quiet and have decent traction in rain/snow. This go around I drank the Michelin lovers kool-aid and I am now using Michelins LTX M/S and wonder how much longer they will last at about 25,000 miles. So far not impressed.

On on my second set of Michelins. The first set of LTX M/S was replaced under warranty even though I'd had no problems. The second set lasted around 50,000 miles. The third set is the LTX M/S 2. I've only had them for a couple months but they're doing fine.I typically carry between 5,000 and 9,000 pounds on my rear axle depending on the use of the truck. When I had the boat the whole rig with TC and boat was around 18,000 pounds. The tires wear good, ride good, and just work really well.Michelin was one of very few companies to offer a mileage warranty on a truck tire. When the second set didn't make the warranty they told me that Michelin probably wouldn't do anything since my truck was a commercial vehicle. (I have a flat bed on it with tool boxes for my electrical business.)Overall, I recommend the tires but don't expect to get super great wear if you run heavy all the time like I do.

Kevin you spelled dually wrong in your original post... you might want to fix that lol!..I use Toyo H/T. I air them down when not hauling....65 front 55 rear. Then up to max on all when loaded, 80 psi max is what is branded on the tire so that is what I do. They seam to wear pretty evenly but don't quite last as long as I thought they would. I'm on my second set...I had to replace a defective one that a belt broke once but overall seams to be a good ride.

Gotta wonder what the difference is. Sure they were bald when I replaced them but I got awesome life from them.
Rotated regularly and made sure my front end was lined up too. Didn't corner too hard either.
Best tires I've ever had.

I got about 800 miles short of 80,000 miles on a set of LTX Michelins.
Best tires I've ever had.

I have about 25,000 miles on a set of LTX Michelins and they are half worn. So far worse tires I have had on my dually.

I've had really good performance from the Nitto Terra Grappler G2's I had installed last January.

My dually came factory with General's, which wore out on the front tires at 18,000 miles.

Over 14,000 miles now on the Terra Grappler's and almost all of it hauling my truck camper around. And no wear yet evident, still looking like new. Mind you, I've never been convinced these could make the 50,000 mile warranty for the LT metric size I have (235/80R17's) but gosh they are sure giving me the indication that perhaps these can do it.
