Time to place your bets

My guess is that Ford will be revealing the power and Torque specs of the new Powerstroke before too long. Anyone care to put their guess down in print?

I'm going to guess 1050 lbft of torque and 496 HP.

They already announced the new values, I saw an article in the last couple of days. The HP was in the 400 range but I don't think the torque was anywhere close to 1000. Sorry I didn't really pay much attention to the article since I won't be buying one.

Didn't catch the fact the OP was asking about the 2020 Diesel, not the new gas engine either.

Ram has announced the tractor engine :W they are buying to put in their trucks will have a coma, so everyone will be upping their game.
  • A little above the other guys. And so on and so forth.

  • I thought the Ford 7.3 gasoline engine was getting all the attention? :)

Why? Right now you are at 150 more HP, and 300 more Torques than you were 15 years ago. Not to mention 2-4, soon to be 4-6 more gears.

People have been getting over those mountains for years, it is not a case where being down 50 ftlb to the other guy is really going me mean you cannot possibly get over the hill.

That would be a significant jump. I don't think they will leap frog that far. 460hp 1020 torque

You're probably right that I'm being too optimistic. On the other hand 1050 is only a 5% increase over the Cummins and Ford has made some very significant changes to their engine for 2020. I'll be a little disappointed if all those changes don't yield an equally significant torque increase.

I think us who pull rvs in the mountains could very easily make use of a 10% increase in power.
  • Don't matter to me, I'll keep on running my 7.3. It smokes and that all well and good.
