If it is near the highway I just make sure to park where the passing headlights don't illuminate me. Heck, turnouts with big off pavement areas on lesser traveled two lane roads can be just fine. Once I get out onto the dirt roads I'm looking for views, streams to fish, anyplace away from everyone else and if all else fails anything somewhat flat and out of the way
