No kidding Sleepy. I have spent a few days tooling around the Bald River area. We were going to camp near the Holly Flats primitive campground, but the water was really low that year so we went on to Santeetlah.
I have never fished any of the tail waters in this area, but I did rent a floating house on Norris a few years back. I rally like Laurel Lake and Dale Hollow as well. Lots of primitive camping.
Our first destination with the TC will be to the Nanthala. Would love to drop by on our way down there and say hello.
Was just in West Virginia a few weeks ago. Absolutely love the area around the cranberry. I have been to the glades, and the last time I was there my buddy and I hiked down the old fisherman trail behind summit lake to the Cranberry. Wow what a crazy steep trail that was.
I think Summit lake is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen especially in the fall. I was a little upset about the amount of trash etc left lying around but that is just the way it is in many parts of West Virginia.
Cant wait to do it in the TC instead of the back of my van.
