Listen to Sleepy. He is a legend on this forum, just ask him. I'm kidding of course. I am one of Sleepy's biggest fans, and was really surprised he has let many of his 'boondock' secrets out of the bag. He said he never would divulge any specific experience about the 'how-to's" of BD-ing. I guess referring to his mentor George was not enough.
Successful boondocking/dry camping/stealth camping is not science but an art form. It's like playing the violin; you MUST practice to make it work, oh, and have a modicum of talent to understand the finite differences.
My advice to all of you is to tab this very thread for future study. It WILL change your paradigm about
1. boondocking (I'm not so fond the term either as it has too wide a connotation to be specific)
2. dry camping (simply camping without external support of any kind)
3. stealth camping (I prefer camouflaged camping as it is more specific as you are just trying to blend in, whereas Stealth has a 'get-away-with-something connotation) Is this camouflaged camping?:
I will have to try this here boondocking sometime! 8<) (That statement is camouflaged stealth speak.)
regards, as always, jefe
