Couple of things here. We had a blowout on our fifth wheel recently and we have a TPMS system. No warning and I had just looked at the screen, when boom! Second, I just read an extensive article on trailer tires. ST's are made specifically for towables. The sidewalls are meant to take the turning and flexing that towables are subject too that LT's can't handle. That's not to say LT's are bad, but ST's are made specifically to handle the flexing. Brand doesn't mean anything, but how they are handled and treated. An American made Goodyear can blow just as easily as a Chinese made and the Chinese can out perform, if treated correctly and replaced when it should be.

Overloaded.........under inflated. Either will kill a tire quickly.
Unseen damage to belts. Add a little 'heat' and maybe even speed and POW/BOOM.....thread separation.

Flap/flap/flap.......sidewall, underside of rig damage. All in a matter of seconds.

Westlake Tires......ST tires.
Probably just barely adequate for 5vr 'axle' weight rating.

Another...any time you tow you should continually use the west coast/side mirrors to monitor what is going on with the tires. From the photo the tread didn't just come off, it had to be beating the******out of the trailer for some time.

The shackle bolts are rusted...the tire shown with the tread still intact has excessive un-even wear, certainly not visuals of a trailer less than 1 yr old.
