Yes, but in one of those threads about Kumho failures, the user stated that the tire dealer inspected the blown tire and deemed it had run over something that caused the failure.
This is the trouble with anecdotal reports about tire quality and failures, we don't know the cause of the failure and everyone that hasn't had a catastrophic failure rates their brand as the best.
IMO, tire longevity has more to do with proper maintenance, loading, alignment, and avoiding road debris.
